Today's Issue: The call to Eli Lilly (Parts 1 and 2)
Insulin was discovered for the life saving treatment of people with Type 1 diabetes. In order to make human insulin you must have C-peptide. If Big Pharma is making human insulin they must have C-peptide somewhere in house. What are they doing with the C-peptide? Why are they not selling it to people with Type 1 diabetes who need it? All eyes on Lilly. Allies Voice calls Eli Lilly (NYSE: LLY) to request access to this panacea for Type 1 diabetes complications. Way to go Allie! I have also tried to "independently" get my hands on stuff and information relevant to our cause..I laugh because I usually handle it in the same "matter-of-fact" way. Lol! I guess as T1 diabetics, we are sick of the BS and fighting for answers.
I hope you get the c-peptide, let us know. I'd order some much in the same way, but that might blow our cover as "independent researchers".
If you actually are able to get a constant supply, you likely have moved a great step forward in having a hand in saving your own life. I truly believe that c-peptide *does* play a role in T1 diabetes.

Good for you(and us w/T1DM)!!
Finally to be able to speak with someone who is with a large conglomerate and is not rude and has intelligence, courtesy as well as being helpful at the same time. What a stroke of good fortune.
You must have done some action recently that was truly self-sacrificing and loving.
If you are able to get the C-peptide......You must then make sure that there are no contaminants mixed along with it as well as find out how best to then make it available to be taken via injection or oral.
Thanks for your effort Allie.

Actually, I already know what the response is going to be (no), but I cannot wait to hear the excuse the company provides!

Allie,
You must be turning blue . . . please don't continue holding your breath while you wait for a return call from Eli Lilly. The C-peptide of which you speak would probably be best sourced from the production of pork insulin rather than human or beef. At this point, none of knows what by-products in the first stages of insulin production.
If, by some miracle, you actually make contact with a Lilly research and establish a dialog, you might also ask for a copy of the data from the trials that were submitted at time of application/approval . . . they were to be extended for 18 months AFTER approval, and I have yet to find any reference regarding this FDA-required follow-up/completion information.
If the information was obtained and sent to FDA, I would be interested to see it; if the "trial" was not completed, per FDA requirements, what kind of fine would FDA impose after a 20+ year interval of ignoring their demands.

Allie, what a fantastic idea! Wonderful as the thought is, I hardly think you will be successful in getting them to ship you anything -- I'd love to be wrong -- but the true value of this venture might lie in their response; let's hope there is one.
Keep at it Allie, and don't get discouraged. Only good can come from what you are doing.
